The NAMI Klima electric scooter is one of the great models out there, but unfortunately, it’s far from perfect.
While most reviewers praise its agility and nimbleness, few affiliate marketers mention its flaws.
From our research from different owners, these are the common problems we found about the NAMI Klima:
Problematic Braking System
Several users have mentioned problems with the braking system, particularly with the brake sensors and regenerative braking. The regen braking can be too strong, causing discomfort and safety concerns when it kicks in unexpectedly at high speeds.
Dub12Nation2102, a user on social, had this to say on a thread, “I had heard about the brake sensor issues, and I do have that problem; apparently a warranty replacement will be sent. For now I disabled the problem sensor while I await the replacement. I still have some light squeaking of my brakes I have to decipher.”
In a different thread, he stated, “I have a brand new Nami Klima and have some sounds from the brakes that I’m not sure about, in addition to the sensor problem.
Are the hydraulic brakes supposed to make a clicking sound when I’m braking? Both the front and the back are doing this. When I apply them there’s a clicking sound at the speed of rotation, a very fast clicking. Is this normal?
Also when I pull my right brake lever there is a light squeaking sound. Any thoughts?
It has the brake sensor issue as well. I tried the adjustment suggested, but no dice, I have to take it all the way out to where it doesn’t trigger in order for it not to stay on.”
Braking issues are fairly common, as many others in the comment section confirm that the brakes squeal a lot especially when it’s cold. Having ridden many other premium models, I have never noticed brakes squealing due to coldness.
Lastly, regarding owner reviews about the scooter, Taron gave this model a 1-star rating and said, “Nami Klima has a factory Defect on the brakes. I purchased the scooter and rode it for 5 minutes before the brake sensor came on and the motor cut off. I am still waiting for a sensor two weeks later. So not only is the scooter bad but the system for getting out parts is horrible. I would not recommend this company until you fix how you sell scooters that are defective and how you ship parts.”
Typically, the braking system of this model is its greatest undoing. Sadly, NAMI hasn’t provided an amicable solution to these brakes as of the time of writing this post.
Subpar Build Quality In Some Rides
According to Jojos, “Hi, I just bought a Nami Klima Max, and the first thing I did when going home was put it on a charge, however, I noticed that I had to plug my charger twice for it to work.
I then moved the scooter to another room and now it doesn’t charge at all, the charger is green and when I plug it nothing happens. The scooter says it’s at 80%. Also, I noticed another problem, sometimes my blinkers do not turn on even if the green LED above the button is on.
Jojos went further to say that he and many others had to send back the battery as it was a common issue.
You can look at the screenshot below and see another review and what the customer thinks about the scooter right off the box.
Instability At High Speeds
Some owners have reported instability at maximum speeds, suggesting that this might be due to issues with the front wheel or motor. This can cause vibrations and affect the overall ride quality.
Juicecoldman, one of the complainants said, “When I put the scooter up on a stand and go up to full speed it starts vibrating really bad. Is this normal?”
He also attached a video showing the vibrations.
The issue of vibrations is talked about by many with another post talking about the issue.
Controller and Software Bugs
Issues with the controller software have been mentioned, such as problems disabling certain features like the regen braking digitally. These software bugs can interfere with the scooter’s performance and user experience.
This could fall under bad quality control and some owners such as this one felt like it was a waste of money to buy the NAMI Klima.
Any Better NAMI Klima Alternatives?
If I were in the market looking for an alternative to the NAMI Klima, I would go for the upgraded YUME Raptor. The great spec-to-price ratio and owner satisfaction would be my guiding points.
