Package Leaving Origin Country/Region Meaning On AliExpress

A few hours or days after AliExpress tells you that your item is awaiting a flight, one of the most recent accompanying tracking statuses is, “Package leaving origin country/region.”

What’s giving? Let’s find out.

What Does “Package Leaving Origin Country/Region” Mean On AliExpress?

This AliExpress tracking status means that an item has been loaded into a flight leaving the country of origin [China] and heading towards the recipient’s country.

Now that we are sure that the package has already been loaded onto a plane especially considering that this tracking status comes after Awaiting Flight, it sadly happens sometimes that the tracking page doesn’t show any new updates for long.

Let’s find out the finer details below.

Reasons Why Your Package Is Stuck On Leaving Origin Country/Region

The Tracking Page Doesn’t Update As Expected

The AliExpress tracking page doesn’t always update in real-time, and while it might still show “Package leaving origin country/region,” the right status about your item could be that it has already left China and landed in your country awaiting customs clearance.

We recommend using free third-party apps to track your items from China instead of relying on what Cainiao tracking shows.

Inclement Weather

Flights rely on perfect weather, and when there are bad weather conditions, pilots might be forced to wait a long time before they can leave China and head toward your country.

A typical example is what we saw in December 2024 where packages were delayed for up to 5 days before leaving China ports due to inclement weather.

Whenever you see your item delayed and stuck on this update, it would be best to search for the local weather conditions in China before going into panic mode, especially when expecting a time-sensitive item.

What To Do When Your Item Is Stuck On This Status For Several Days

Track Your Package Again

Using free third-party sites such as 17Track and Parcelsapp is the best idea whenever you find the default AliExpress tracking page not updating as perfectly as you would like it to do.

If you find that the cause of the delay is bad weather, you will be at peace knowing that everything is beyond anyone’s control.

If you find that it’s an issue to do with the default AliExpress tracking not updating as seamlessly, you will at the very least know the right status of your item and figure out which local delivery company is involved to bring your package home.

File A Dispute If Applicable

This is a perfect idea for when the AliExpress Order Details Page shows automatic delivery for your item, but the default tracking page and other tracking sites show that the item is still at the airport

Filing a dispute and asking for a refund is applicable when 60 to 90 days have passed, the order details page shows automatic delivery, but then no delivery happened in the first place.

If possible, file the dispute with real-time screenshots showing what the AliExpress tracking system shows [nothing about any delivery occurring].

Getting a refund from AliExpress is often loathed as a minimum of 60 days from the order date have to pass before you can request for any refund, though.

Wondering about what to do if the initial package eventually comes even after getting your refund? Just let the seller know. They might ask you to keep it depending on its value as the return process is equally draining.
