Before your package arrives at the airport, it must go through one or more sorting centers.
One of the hubs is the sorting center of origin. This is the initial hub where a package gets sorted after coming out of the collection warehouse.
So, what does it mean when AliExpress tells you that your package left sorting center of origin? Let’s find out.
What Does Package Left Sorting Center Of Origin Mean On AliExpress?
This AliExpress tracking status means that an item has been properly sorted in the initial center and is proceeding toward its destination.
When the initial sorting center is near the airport, the tracking status moves from “Package left sorting center of origin” to “Your package arrived at airport. Awaiting transit.”
If this initial center [sorting center of origin] is far from the airport, the package has to go through one or more sorting centers before it gets rerouted to the most appropriate airport to continue with its journey.
Why Is My Package Stuck On This Status For Long?
Clumsy Tracking Page
The default AliExpress tracking system isn’t the most sophisticated, and more times than not doesn’t update in real-time.
That said, it could be that your package is undergoing customs clearance in your country, with the tracking page still showing, “Package left sorting center of origin.”
While dealing with AliExpress tracking, we always recommend using free third-party package tracking sites to get the real-time status of items.
Inclement Weather Conditions
While your item might have properly left the sorting center of origin, it could be that there is bad weather in the next sorting center.
In such a case, the truck won’t be offloaded, and depending on the extent, several hours or days might pass before offloading happens and the packages get a new scan.
Accident
Packages leave sorting centers in trucks and accidents happen sometimes.
In such scenarios, there could be delays before the scene gets processed, items offloaded and reloaded to different trucks, and then heading over to the next sorting centers or airport.
What Do I Do When My Item Is Stuck On This Tracking Status?
Re-track Your Item
Free third-party websites such as 17Track and Parcelsapp are great to provide you with updated whereabouts of your items.
While Cainiao tracking might show that your item left the sorting center of origin and stayed stuck there, such sites might surprise you to show that the item is in your country awaiting to be handed over to a last-mile carrier.
File A Dispute If Applicable
If the order details show automatic delivery of your item [typically between 60 and 90 days] from he day the tracking label was created, you can file a dispute for a refund owing to non-delivery.
AliExpress can sometimes be a pain to deal with, so, you might need to provide them with screenshots showing their tracking page displaying “Package left sorting center of origin” and stuck there.
How about if the item gets delivered way after you receive your refund? Well, some sellers might allow you to keep it.
